We are delighted to confirm Claudia Campbell has been awarded a Distinction for ILM Level 5 Operations/Departmental Manager Apprenticeship.
She studied for the qualification alongside her full-time role as CEL Group’s General Manager. And is based at our HQ and Logistics Centre in Shropshire.
“ILM courses appeal because of their practical application in the workplace”, says Peter Humphries, CEL Group’s Managing Director. “It’s a win-win situation. New skills and experience are developed which can be applied to drive continuous business improvement. Improvements which will help us to deliver a seamless offshore experience so that we continue to benefit UK OEMs looking for reliable sub-contract manufacturing in China.”
Claudia’s course included project work focused on enhancing stock management. She worked with the rest of the management team and our operations, sales and warehouse teams to identify and deliver logistical and risk management improvements.
“The stock holding project has made a difference on many levels,” confirms Simon Cartwright, CEL Group Sales Director. “We have made improvements logistically, as well as boosting our team working across different disciplines. Plus, we have definitely learnt a thing or two about overcoming technical hurdles in e-communications.
“Communicating effectively and building relationships on virtual platforms is key for us, as we have customers across the UK and factories in China. Despite some of the new examination methods being a little temperamental, Claudia responded with her usual resourcefulness. Her determination, adaptability and sheer hard work have delivered a well-deserved distinction. We are all really thrilled for her.”
Claudia, who also looks after HR and staff development at CEL Group, explains, “The course gave me an opportunity to stand back from day-to-day work and gain new insights into how a business can operate more effectively.
“I now have a better understanding of techniques for managing larger teams. This helps with motivating and empowering people to deliver supply chain services which offer our customers an unrivalled offshore advantage.”
She continues, “The course has shown me, first-hand, how the skills and knowledge can benefit us all. It has equipped me with more tools and more confidence to play my part in delivering CEL Group’s mission. So we give customers the best results from manufacturing in China.”
“I hope my result will inspire other members of the team too. A few are already in the process of completing vocational courses.”
